It’s pretty common to start the year with a lot of goals and resolutions. Most of them being health related. That was sort of my plan also. When school started I would go on with my training plan and continue to work on my body. And that changed less than a week ago when I found out I am pregnant. This is shocking news. Not in a bad way but after 4 years of trying I was about to give hope. And then it happened. Now my health related goals have another end in mind. The hunger that comes with pregnancy is horrible. It seems that every day when my husband gets home I am eating. I weigh the same I did when I got pregnant with my daughter 6 years ago and I only gained 21 lbs throughout the pregnancy. Will I be able to do the same this time? I already met with a nutritionist so we can work on a plan. And then there’s the running… Will I be a pregnant runner? I hope I can, at least for a while. A lot of emotions are in my head. A lot of questions. But one thing I know, 2012 will be amazing!
The 2012, 365 Miles Challenge is pretty simple.
Walk/Run/Whatever 365 miles in 365 days. What you week could look like:
Sunday- REST
Monday- 1.4 Miles.
Tuesday- 1.4 Miles
Wednesday- 1.4 Miles
Thursday- REST
Friday- 1.4 Miles
Saturday- 1.4 MilesOR
Sunday- 3 Miles
Monday- REST
Tuesday- 2 Miles
Wednesday- REST
Thursday- 1 Mile
Friday- 1 Mile
Saturday- RestReally it’s up to you. Remember, as you get better at running you will be able to run LONGER distances at a time. Maybe you’ll even make it to 365 Miles before 2012 is even over?
This is a personal challenge, so make it your own :)
SPREAD THE WORD!
It’s the last day of the year and I had my last run of 2011. I set out to complete 10 miles with the group but decided to make it 6 instead. I’ve barely ran since my half marathon so 6 miles was great for me. I don’t feel bad one bit. In all, I completed 343 miles this year and I still don’t feel like a runner. My goal for 2012 is to run more miles than this year. Maybe in the process I’ll learn to run with the voices in my head and shut them up, or better yet, show them, that I am indeed a runner…not a fast one, but a runner nonetheless.
Have a great year everyone!
The ironman video I.posted yesterday you really should.
Its not about the elite athletes. Its about the every man.
I cried and cried.
A young woman who once weighed 316 lbs, a double amputee doing it for wounded veterans, a woman who trained while fighting colon cancer, a 71 year old doctor who…
I was not expecting to cry so much. Very inspiring.
